Named after Abu Al Barakat Yusuf Al Barbari, a North African scholar who made Baa Atoll his home in the 12th century, Al Barakat serves authentic Arabian cuisine, including Lebanese mezze, grill items and North African specialties. The restaurant is built over water, off the main jetty. The main dining area on the rooftop features comfortable low seating.
Overlooking the swimming pool and beach, the three thatch-roofed pavilions of Cafe Landaa are separated by reflecting ponds. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, the chefs create exquisite delights with eastern and western influences. Specialties are Asian and regional specialties from the tandoor and curry kitchen; in the evening, sushi and teppanyaki are served at dedicated counters in a dramatic water garden adjacent to the restaurant.
Located adjacent to the seawater pool and overlooking the eastern coast of the island, Fuego Grill is open for dinner. The restaurant offers fresh catch of the day as well as a wide selection of organic and prime cut meats, salads, sandwiches and Asian dishes from an open kitchen pavilion. Teak tables and chairs are set in the sand facing the sea.
Located at the western end of the island overlooking a 2 kilometer lagoon, Blu embraces the essence of the Maldives as the place where the ocean meets the sky. From the restaurant pavilion on one side or the Blu Bar pavilion on the other, you can watch the sun sink below the horizon. The restaurant serves à la carte breakfast, light antipasti, pizza and pasta at lunch and fine Italian cuisine in the evening. Homemade gelati are served poolside throughout the day. A children's menu is also available.
Take the short seawalk to one of the most relaxed decks in the Maldives. At Seabar, you'll laze on comfortable cushions as you sip the resort's signature frozen margaritas and snack on tapas-style share plates and light bites – all while admiring the lemon sharks and reef fish in the turquoise waters below.
In the casual sand-floor setting of Blu Bar, enjoy exotic juices, tropical cocktails or a refreshing young coconut. As the sun sets, an aperitif or glass of sparkling Prosecco is the perfect prelude to an Italian dinner next door at Blu.
Perched over the lagoon by the main jetty, Al Barakat's Shisha Bar is open to the sea, with curtained sofas and ornate lanterns – an atmospheric setting for pre-dinner drinks or Turkish coffee and shisha pipes.
Enjoy panoramic views of the Indian Ocean from the Poolside Bar. Wine cocktails and refreshing tropical drinks are served throughout the day, as well as salads and light fare.
Five Degrees North
The Resort's main bar is named for the island's location, which lies five degrees north of the equator. Its nautically inspired decor features a dhoni (traditional boat) as the counter, with a library, pool table and selection of board games for entertainment. Maldivian sae bon (afternoon tea) is served, and the bar has an extensive drinks selection.
Located next to the seawater pool overlooking Kudarikilu Kandu (the channel), Barbecue Giraavaru offers fresh catch of the day as well as a wide selection of meats, salads and side dishes. Opens for dinner only.
In-Villa Dining at Four Seasons is a fine-dining experience within the comfort and convenience of your bungalow or villa. Choose from an extensive menu throughout the day, featuring western and Asian favourites. Breakfast includes an inspired selection of nutritionally balanced, healthy items including freshly squeezed juices, granola and egg white omelettes. Also available are set Japanese breakfasts. Lunch and dinner present home-style classics, curries and a vegetarian selection. For afternoon tea, enjoy traditional tea-time favourites or a Maldivian version with a unique twist. Satisfy your midnight cravings with a light salad, sandwich or pasta dish. An extensive selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages complements your In-Villa Dining. In addition to a children's menu, the resort also offers a complimentary infants' menu for children age three or under who have been introduced to solid food. Special arrangements can be made for romantic beach and sandbank dinners, Robinson Crusoe picnics and private parties of any size.
Laze by your choice of three swimming pools at the Resort. The spectacular 50 meter Olympic-size main pool cantilevers over the lagoon on the north shore of the island, providing a view of unsurpassed natural beauty. Unwind with a drink from the swim-up bar, lounge on the sundeck or in your private gazebo or enjoy a game of chess at the oversized chessboard.
A 20 meter seawater pool "floats" near the main pool, overlooking the stunning 2 kilometer lagoon. Nestled in the western end of the island, it is the perfect spot to share views of a romantic sunset.
Kids will love the free-flow children's pool adjacent to the main pool. A guardian must accompany them if they are under five years of age.

Marine Life presentation
The reef of the Maldivian archipelago represents one of the richest marine ecosystems on earth. If you are interested in learning more about the area's underwater life, the Resort invites you to a "Marine Life" presentation by its resident marine biologist. The presentation takes place five evenings a week in the Five Degrees North bar and lounge. The next afternoon, enjoy a snorkeling excursion with the marine biologist – a unique way to discover the underwater world of the Maldives.
Dolphin talk and dolphin-watching cruise

A line and some bait are all you need to participate in the sunset fishing experience. Catch one if you can, and the resort's chef will be delighted to prepare it to your liking. The excursion takes about two hours by dhoni.
Lunch on a sandbank! A speedboat takes you across the atoll on a snorkelling and picnic excursion. Enjoy the beauty of a white strip of beach in the middle of the ocean, snorkel the wonderful waters amongst brilliantly coloured corals and fish, or simply relax under the shade of your tent while your picnic is prepared. This excursion takes three hours by speedboat.
Take a break from aquatic activities to practise your tennis skills or take lessons from the on-site tennis pro. The Resort's outdoor tennis court is lit for night play, and complimentary tennis racquets and balls are available.
A leisurely jog around the island at dawn or dusk is one of the best ways to enjoy the refreshing island air and keep fit. Jogging maps are available.
The Health Club at Landaa Giraavaru is a unique mind-and-body experience designed to provide physical challenges and mental relaxation. Maintain your regimen in a state-of-the-art fitness facility featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, full-length mirrors, surround-sound audio system and advanced cardio fitness equipment with individual flat screen televisions. The rustic Maldivian charm of the setting magically stimulates and helps you unwind, resulting in an ultimate wellness experience.
The Spa and Ayurvedic Retreat, a resort in itself, provides a comprehensive approach to physical, spiritual and mental well-being, with a special emphasis on yoga and ayurveda. Secluded open-air treatment areas make the lush tropical setting an integral part of the relaxation and treatment process.
Situated within the spa complex, the Ayurvedic Retreat, a first for Four Seasons, is designed to stimulate its guests into thinking about, experimenting with, and understanding the fundamental philosophical approach to Ayurveda. The Resort has worked closely with experts from nearby Kerala, India, to ensure this ancient science of life has been successfully transported to the Maldives. The experienced therapists and Ayurvedic physicians are highly trained professionals, including diet, body type, patient approach and the practice of yoga and meditation.
The Ayurvedic Retreat has three individual treatment pavilions designed to take guests on a journey through the physical, nutritional and emotional benefits of the Ayurvedic system. In each treatment pavilion, furnished with wooden Ayurvedic tables, traditional herbal bathtubs, steam benches and an area for mud treatments, guests are treated to physical and spiritual rejuvenation.
Besides introducing the myriad possibilities Ayurveda offers, guests will also learn to integrate some of the processes into their daily lives. At the herbal center, fragrant gardens are planted with medicinal herbs, trees and flowers. Here, guests can learn about the various oils and herbal concoctions used in the Ayurvedic process. The Resort's resident Ayurvedic physician is available to advise on healthier lifestyle options and to design dosha-specific meal plans in cooperation with the Resort's Ayurvedic chef, for guests who wish to experience this ancient science throughout the duration of their stay.
Another specialty is the panchakarma procedure, a series of five therapies that comprises Ayurveda's primary purification and detoxification treatment. Due to the complexity of these treatments and the associated detoxification diet that is essential to its success, the procedure is offered as a 14-day package only.
The Spa Complex
Located in the heart of the island and stretching down to sea, the spa complex occupies an elevated 1 hectare site, with 10 individual thatched treatment pavilions – four over water, three in a lush garden setting and three in the Ayurvedic Retreat. Set over crystal waters, each water pavilion has an attached steam room and deep bath that overlooks the ocean, while each garden treatment villa has a steam room and outdoor shower. Guests aged 16 and above are welcome to enjoy spa treatments.
Numerous pathways throughout the beautiful surrounding gardens allow for leisurely walks pre- and post-treatment. The spa also incorporates a beauty salon, juice bar, beachfront resting pavilion and retail area.
Yoga at the Resort is a magical experience. The resident Yogi guides beginners and experienced followers through inspiring morning meditation and evening enlightenment sessions from a pavilion that “floats†on the sea. Private sessions are available, and the Yogi welcomes all guests for discussions on this ancient spiritual practice.
