The Island Grill
The atmospheric and interactive Island Grill comprises an open kitchen concept and natural sand floors. The traditional open grill and wood-burning oven allows guests to watch the chefs at work, whilst relaxing barefoot beneath a traditional thatch canopy. The main dishes focus on fresh seafood caught daily, and grilled meats marinated in fresh herbs from the island's hydroponic garden. Once the sun has set, soft lighting, stand-alone lamps and traditional swing chairs enhance the relaxed authentic Maldivian atmosphere. Open only for dinner, The Island Grill is the ideal romantic dining venue where you can savour the touches of the Maldives whilst sampling a selection of fine wines on offer.
With views encompassing the heart of the resort, the poolside Maldivian bar offers a broad selection of signature refreshments from around the globe. This traditional and contemporary recreational living room area is an architectural masterpiece, and the most unique and impressive visual feature of the resort when arriving onto the island. Built by local Dhoni (fishing boat) builders from a nearby atoll, the design of the roof sheltering this magnificent structure is an enormous upturned Dhoni. Comfortable sofas and stylish chairs set upon a white sand floor make this the ideal hideaway spot to spend the day playing board games, reading a book or listening to music. During the evening when the room lights up in a glorious display of oranges, browns and yellows, the mood shifts towards a more romantic feel as the cool ocean breezes swirl around you.
Serving an extensive all-day menu from both The Dining Room and The Island Grill, in-villa dining service efficiently caters within the resort and, on request, can also prepare intimate dinners on the beach, The Dining Room's mezzanine floor and roof-top terrace, or at the end of the jetty.
